With the dust just settling on the end of the 38th National just outside Chicago, collectors start making plans for next years and beyond. National show organizers announced that Cleveland will host the 2018 show on August 1st – 5th.  The 40th National show will return back to Rosemont for 2019 and be held July 31st – Aug 4th. Then in 2020, in what was a surprise to some collectors, the show will go back to Atlantic City on July 29th-Aug. 2nd.

Chicago Cubs fan Joe Couri, had a interesting drive home the other night. According to the Journal Star in Peoria, Couri says he was driving along Interstate 74 in central Illinois when an accident backed up traffic, thats when he said he saw a World Series hat among debris on the road.

It turns out it wasnt just any old hat but a 2011 World Series championship cap autographed by some of the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals, and get this the Chicago Cubs fan wants to give it back.

Couri says the hat is signed by Freese, Molina, Motte and others including an “unexpected auto”. Couri hopes the owner will come forward to get his hat back and be able to tell who that “unexpected auto” is

It’s the event we’ve all waited for, The National Sports Collectors Convention and that it was coming back to the best city in the U.S.A made it even better. Flash back to about 9 months ago, that’s when the Dr. told me and the wife that we were expecting our first child, yes the week of The National. So DPM, will not be in Chicago but plans are in the works for next year in Baltimore.  I will be posting stories, links, and tweets from other collectors this week that are at the National so be sure to check back often. Have a great week, collectors…..
